It's only a first release but yTimer2 already has several improvements over the original. For a start, your timers are saved after they've expired, which means you can easily reuse them. You can also instruct the program to re-run timers as they expire, which gives you a lot more flexibility with repeat events. And there's also an option to stop the popup reminder window appearing over the top of all other programs.
